Hidden Water Under Wood Flooring Calls for a SERVPRO Professional!
Moisture is the single most important factor which affects the quality of wood and many other building materials. If moisture is left undetected, it will ultimately cause major problems such as, severe structural damage, dry rot and mold. The only definite way to determine is excess or hidden moisture is present is to use a moisture meter.
One of our customers experienced a water leak over the weekend and thought they dried it all up until they felt squishing under their laminate flooring. Good thing they called SERVPRO of Grand Island & Hastings to check their floors to ensure everything was dried properly. As it turned out there was a small section of the flooring that was still affected and had began cupping.
Our crew chief checked the surrounding area with a moisture meter to find the entire area that was affected and would need to be removed. The customer couldn't believe that the water could soak under the floor and be trapped. We are happy to be a part of the "important magnets" displaying on their refrigerator. Happy customers make our job so rewarding!
